I know there was a marked improvement in the last update that was preformed on the old server. Now that we are on the new server, how is Hostboard responding now? From the back end speed wise it seems to be running beyond anything that we have experienced before as the server is barely being tickled even with the almost 2,000 users being online at a time.

Hi,

The move to a new server definitely improved performance ( page loading imes etc. ).

The previous update on the old server also made a noticeable difference.

not exactly sure when this new improvement went online, but the forum acts better than I remember 2-3 weeks ago. Thank you!

Speed wise, it seems to be on a par now with my reference DIY site, but I only have a ~25 mbps connection, so short of obvious lagging/freezing up, guess it doesn't take much to please me: diyAudio

Site seems much better. Dunno I?m still waiting for that phone call you were supposed to make on the information I requested. I take it Hostboard is no longer for sale ? Lol

Ok the "Live" should be removed.

Technically anything is for sale for the right price. However since my hosting company cut me a break on the new server, and performance is no longer an issue, at this time I am not let it go at a "liquidation" price. But I did learn a few things, and one of the items that has joined the immediate need to develop is a way that each community can have their individual data extracted into a standard vBulletin database format, that would allow them to either use VB or use one of the other forum solutions out there and import the data. This is actually a lot more complex than meets the eye as not only are there community posts, but those that made the posts. But, we also have to be mindful of others sites and users and not "sell" their data. In a nut shell, we also need to build a community members group and make that list available in the HBCP with the ability of owners/moderators to add and remove from there. Basically if someone posts in the forum for the first time they will get a notice that upon submission they agree to be a member of that community. Then we have a tangible list to work with and a complete data set. There are other issues that we also need to include to make this work but this is the basic premise.
